Matthew DeOrazio, has been playing guitar and performing for most of his life. Whether solo or with a band, performing ‘modern electric blues’, combining new interpretations of familiar songs with his own compositions, as well as “spontaneous compositions” - improvisational work inspired by the moment. Solo, using the guitar through a looping pedal, he creates a foundation of percussion sounds, bass lines, and rhythm accompaniment to then play guitar and sing with, leaving audiences feeling apart of the creative process as they watch it unfold. With a band, drawing on the finest talent pool of musicians in the country. The interplay between instruments and players always makes for an exciting and interesting musical conversation involving blues, funk and jazz elements. All filtered through the New Orleans experience.

Matthew lives and works in New Orleans with his wife Melissa DeOrazio. The couple writes, performs and records as Melissa On The Rocks. Their debut cd Wiser Cause, recorded in Austin, mixed in L.A. and mastered in New Orleans is slated for summer 2008 release.
