I have been playing guitar and performing for most of my life. Performing ‘modern electric blues’, combining new interpretations of familiar songs with my own compositions, as well as “spontaneous compositions” - improvisational work inspired by the moment. Drawing on the finest talent pool of musicians in the country, creating an interplay between instruments and players always makes for an exciting and interesting musical conversation involving blues, funk and jazz elements. All filtered through the New Orleans experience. El DeOrazio & Friends includes myself, Abe Frishman on bass and Adrian Piano on drums. We often times will have a special guest artist with us just to keep everyone guessing (ourselves included). In addition, I have worked with many other artists on guitar and drums both live and in the studio, including Mercy City, MJ Baby & The Last Word, Melissa On The Rocks, Preacher Keen, Sugarback, Smoky Greenwell, Lips & The Trips and many more. El D lives and works in New Orleans with his wife Melissa. The couple writes, performs and records as Sweet Jones.
